Top Pakistan player reports bookie approach

SHARJAH: A Pakistani cricketer, who is a piece of the squad at present occupied with the ODI arrangement against Sri Lanka in the UAE, has repor­ted an approach by a bookie to the counter debasement unit of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), it rose on Friday.

The offer was made before the third ODI against Sri Lanka on Wednesday, which Pakistan won by seven wickets to secure the five-coordinate arrangement 3-0, Wisden India has learnt.

"A best player was drawn closer by a bookie and the player right away repor­ted the issue to the PCB hostile to debasement unit. The man has been known to the players and lives in the UAE," a source disclosed to Wisden India, affirming that the player being referred to had taken after the method of illuminating the PCB at the earliest opportunity, as set down in the players' code.

Six Pakistan players were associated with a spot-settling case in the Pakistan Super League prior this year.
